Severe Weather Bulletin No. 5
issued at 11PM, 01, June 2012

At 10PM today, the center of Trop. Storm "AMBO" was estimated based on satellite, radar and surface data at 230 km North Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes (15.7 deg. N., 125.2deg. E).

Maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

Forecast to move north northwest at 11kph.

TS AMBO is expected to be at 285 km East Tuguegarao, City by tomorrow evening. It will be at 290 km east of Basco, Batanes by Sunday evening. By Monday evening, it will be at 550 km Northeast of Basco, Batanes.

Residents living in low lying areas under signal #1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.TS AMBO is expected to enhance the Southwest Monsoon that will brings rains over the western section of southern Luzon and Visayas.

Public storm warning signal #1 :
Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Pollilo Island, Aurora, Isabela. And Cagayan.

issued at 5 AM, 04 June 2012

At 4AM today, the center of Typhoon "AMBO" was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 380 km East of Basco, Batanes (21.1 deg. N., 126.0 deg. E).

Maximum sustained winds of 140 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 170 kph.

Forecast to move North Northeast @ 15kph.

TY AMBO is expected to enhance the Southwest Monsoon that will bring rains over Southern Luzon and Visayas especially over the western section which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.

Estimated rainfall amount 20-30 mm/hr (heavy) w/in the 400 km diameter of the Typhoon.

Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the seaboards of Luzon and the Western Visayas due to the combined effects of TY "Ambo" and the Southwest Monsoon.

Meanwhile, an Active Low Pressure Area (ALPA)was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 870 km East of Southern Mindanao(6.0N,134.0E)

The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11AM today.

Tropical Cyclone Alert

At 10PM today, the eye of Typhoon "AMBO" (MAWAR) was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 630km Northeast of Basco, Batanes (23.6 deg. N., 128.0 deg. E).

Maximum sustained winds of 140 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 170 kph.

Forecast to move Northeast @ 19kph.

It is expected to be at 1,010 km Northeast of Basco, Batanes by tomorrow evening

TY AMBO is expected to enhance the Southwest Monsoon that will bring rains over Central and Southern Luzon and Visayas especially over the western section which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.

Estimated rainfall amount 20-30 mm/hr (heavy) w/in the 400 km diameter of the Typhoon. 

Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the seaboards of Luzon and the western seaboard of Visayas due to the combined effects of TY "Ambo" and the Southwest Monsoon.

The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11AM tomorrow.

According to the Weather Philippines news, Ambo totally passed in our area of responsibility but another storm spotted. We must be ready for this one cause it might stronger than Ambo.
