Riza Santos, the former PBB housemate was crowned Miss World Canada 2011. She earned the rights to represent Canada at the Miss World 2011 pageant to be held later this year.
Riza Santos also represented Canada in the Miss Earth 2006 pageant. She didn't make it as one of the semi-finalists but being a Filipina, she was asked to join local Showbiz and ended up as one of Kuya's housemates. She later went on to become one of the casts of the Pinoy version of Betty la Fea.
Why did she not join Binibining Pilipinas instead? She sure is a Canadian citizen, and if she has no Filipino citizenship, she won't qualify for the pageant. And even is she has one, she still won't be allowed to join because she already posed for FHM Philippines. We all know that Binibining Pilipinas doesn't allow ladies who posed for men's magazines to enter their pageant.
After her crowning, Riza is now one of the early front runners for the Miss World crown. The Philippine franchise, now under the supervision of Cory Quirino, is yet to select their representative.
